Good show, but this Ken Mills sounds suspiciously like Mike Nesmith- not only in his voice, but even the metaphors and descriptive phrases he uses sound uniquely Nesmithian. Also, his microphone sounds like the one used on either "Tapioca Tundra" or "Magnolia Simms". If it isn't Nez, he could definitely get a job in a Monkees tribute band! One bit of criticism- one of you guys used a hard "G" when pronouncing Colgems and Gerry and the Pacemakers- it's a soft G in both names, like a "J". Oh well, keep up the good work!
Another awesome episode. Discovering some Monkee gems i've never heard through your show (esp "I Don't Think You Know Me"...Mike's is my fave version). Can't wait for album #2. So much to look forward to. Keep up the great work.
LOVING this show! Great to hear serious, intelligent discussion of the band/show/phenomenon. Some nice raritees heard as well. Being a fan since I was a kid in the late 70s, and collecting everything I could get my hands on since 1986, I'm impressed to hear some things that are new to my ears.
relly enjoying these and learning a lot !
ReplyDeleteThank you Billy! Spread the word!
