Thank you for the moving remembrances and tribute to David Jones..beautiful, cheeky, talented and big hearted Davy. Good to hear that it was noted that because he was so very attractive and a ‘heartthrob’ didn’t preclude his being a skilled actor, singer, performer and comedian. He was cast for far more than his looks having been performing on Broadway to accolades and then ofcourse scouted by Columbia pictures. Having recently rediscovered the Monkees and my first and only ‘crush’, I’ve enjoyed discovering
finding out about the man beyond the TV character however delightful and enjoyed the discussion of his growth as a performer. He was upfront and keen to be known for more than being a Monkee and this was refreshing as well as being so much a product of the unique Monkees phenomenon which wasn’t an easy road to navigate. For David he also lost his mother at 14 and father during the Monkees filming. I salute him for going through all of this and leaving a legacy of love, if not a fortune. I cried during the beautiful song that closes this episode.. “Forever in my Heart” ... it’s true that the strong feelings that develop when we’re so young .. in my case at 10..11 in 1966 last a lifetime. I’ve discovered this and so can say “ Forever in my Heart” too. Thanks again
