ReplyDeleteI only just discovered this podcast, I think through the Peter Tork Facebook fan page, and I'm glad I did. It was great hearing other people talk about some of the lesser known Monkees gems. Tapioca Tundra and As We Go Along are two of my all time favourite tracks, and I can hardly forget the psychedelic Moog synthesizer in Daily Nightly. I was born a good two decades late to face appreciated them back in their prime, but thankfully my mum was a big Monkeemaniac and endowed me with a huge appreciation for 60s music. In fact, their Greatest Hits collection was my first CD back at the ripe old age of 5. I've since become an even bigger aficionado than her, but I'll always be thankful that she brought me up listening to the Monkees. We still watch the show together on those occasions when I can return home (though she doesn't really dig "Head", while I think it's totally groovy and watch it regularly; incidentally, it was awesome hearing some good words about that soundtrack, it really did have some great music)
