  4. Fantastic podcast as always!! Some very interesting ideas there!!! I have actually thought about that - the Monkees as "The Wiazrd of Oz" characters, or "Star Trek" (maybe "Star Trek - Next Generation)? Some cool ideas there!! Yeah - I like your Mike as the Tin Man too!!! Also Mike's wool hat and the Tin Man's hat - very similar in a way!! Davy as Dorothy of course, Peter as the Scarecrow, Micky as the Cowardly Lion - perfect!!

  6. I have always liked The Monkees Variety Show idea for the third season. The actual idea took form a year later with Gomer Pyle, USMC. After five seasons, Jim Nabors was tired of playing Gomer, so they retooled the show with Nabors, Ronnie Schell and Frank Sutton (his Gomer co-stars) into The Jim Nabors Hour. It lasted two seasons, so it could have been possible for The Monkees.
